Sensei Susan KÅDÅ Efird received dharma transmission from Roshi Robert Jinsen Kennedy, S.J., in the Soto lineage of the White Plum Asanga. She began her Zen studies in 2000 with Roshi Janet Jinne Richardson and Sensei Jishin Rosalie McQuaide. After they moved to Florida in 2005, she studied with Sensei Rose Mary Myoan Dougherty. She then studied with Roshi Kennedy for a decade. She received Jukai from Roshi Nancy Mujo Baker. She is the resident teacher for Sky Above Great Wind in Washington, D.C.
